DescriptionAre you passionate about women's and girls' issues, particularly in the developing world, and love to write? Then this internship (dates flexible) might be for you. No pay, but this will be an incredible experience and the opportunity to build your portfolio with the guidance of a seasoned editor.
You will be expected to help with researching stories and writing an article every two weeks (more if you like). You can write from the comfort of your home.
If interested, please visit SistersGeographic.org, and in your cover letter write why you would be interested in interning here as a researcher/writer (you can find the contact email at SistersGeographic.org).
In addition to your cover letter please attach your resume and email it.
Thank you and have a wonderful day!
ResponsibilitiesYour main job is to research organizations, with a focus on someone pivotal withing the organization, making a positive difference in the lives of women and girls in developing countries. These organizations should be grass-roots, not one of the well-known ones who already get a lot of coverage. Our goal at SistersGeographic is to inspire our readers to perhaps volunteer, donate money directly to the organizatio, (NOT SistersGeographic), or simply spread the word about it.
You will be responsible for pitching stories, and writing one every two weeks (about 600-1000 words).
RequirementsSome experience reporting and writing articles (experience at a college newspaper is fine).
And must care about helping girls and women, particularly in developing countries.
