Students and recent graduates with a commitment to law and human rights are invited to apply for the Fall 2014 “Law and Human Rights Internship” program in Ghana, West Africa. Interns will work with organizations at the forefront of corporate law as well as human rights law reform, education, research and advocacy in Ghana. This is a great opportunity to gain international exposure while experiencing the complexities of implementing policy amidst the challenges of social and cultural norms in a developing country. Interns may assist in advising foreign clients, conducting research and due diligence, policy and legislative design and review; conduct field and desktop research on human rights issues; assist in reporting cases of violations; report to and interact with the media, provide training and education outreach.
Interns may attend court hearings, lectures, training and special events and work under the supervision of experienced staff
This internship is unpaid. This opportunity is open to current students and recent graduates who have an interest in international law, human rights and public policy. Students who wish to receive academic credit should check with their individual academic institutions for requirements and make arrangements prior to travel.

Location: The internship will primarily take place in Accra, Ghana, but students may travel to other regions as required.
