About the Position:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and ambitious intern to assist with the needs of our Social Security Disability Department in a team-oriented environment. Our department welcomes individuals with attention to detail, passion for helping others, and interest in pursuing a legal career. This internship is designed for individuals to gain experience in a mid-sized, high volume law firm to acquire knowledge of the legal process as it pertains to Social Security Disability.
At Jeffrey A. Rabin & Associates, Ltd., we are highly skilled attorneys who have devoted our practice to helping those who are living with disability to secure the benefits they need from the Social Security Administration (SSA). We have spent our careers helping clients successfully navigate the complex bureaucracy, rules and procedures of the SSA. This devotion to a single legal practice area has allowed us to build an unparalleled depth of knowledge and breadth of experience that truly benefits our clients.
Responsibilities- Database management, data entry, and filing.
- Speaking to clients and Social Security offices.
- Reviewing legal documents under applicable Social Security Law.
- Sending and receiving correspondence via fax and mail.
- Potential for legal writing (for those interested).
- Potential for medical record review (for those interested).
Requirements- Ability to travel to either the Chicago Loop office or Des Plaines office.
- Ability to attend at least 10 hours a week.
- No prior experience necessary.
- Must be enrolled at least half-time.
