Description

Levine Lyon LLP is looking for an enthusiastic and hardworking Fall Legal Intern to work at our office in downtown Madison for the duration of the Fall 2016 academic semester.

The Internship is not limited to – but is aimed at – people who plan to pursue legal studies or work. The position is primarily administrative in nature but offers an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in litigation, transactions, and immigration.

Responsibilities

-Schedule appointments;
-Handle correspondence and keep track of calendars;
-Handle basic clerical tasks such as answering phones and filing materials;
-Type and modify documents;
-Prepare case folders and trial binders;
-Assist in client intake and maintain files.

Requirements

-Excellent verbal and written command of English (Chinese language proficiency is a plus, and native Chinese speakers are encouraged to apply);
-Computer skills in Microsoft Office, email and internet applications;
-Strong administrative skills;
-Self-motivated, flexible and reliable;
-Ability to deal confidently and swiftly with a variety of demanding tasks;
-Must be available 15-20 hours per week.

The Levine Lyon Intern Program is designed to be inclusive, and in addition to the clerical tasks, interns are often asked to sit in on meetings in which legal matters are discussed. Moreover, interns are encouraged to ask our attorneys questions about the legal profession, law school, and any other professional area in which the intern is interested.
