DescriptionLegal Insights is currently seeking an ongoing legal intern!
We are a busy non-profit organization providing post-conviction assistance to incarcerated individuals including military veterans, women, and youth in all 50 states and the federal correctional system. Veterans and law students/paralegal students are encouraged to apply. Hours are flexible and students may be eligible for coursework credits. Possibility of work study program opportunities. This is currently an unpaid position, but with opportunities to move into a paid position down the line.
You will be required to sign a non-disclosure/non-compete agreement should an interview take place. You must be legally able to work in the United States. This is a NON-SMOKING environment.

RequirementsRequirements for this position:
- Fundamental understanding of how to research and find the law (cases and statutes)
- Familiarity with appellate law practice and procedure
- MS Office skills (Word and Excel)
- Excels in interpersonal phone skills
- Manual filing experience
- Copying and scanning experience
- Reliable transportation
- Familiarity with criminal appeals/post-conviction/habeas corpus practice and procedure
-Heavy background in research
- Knowledge of Quickbooks
- Familiarity with Customer Relation Management (CRM) system
(e.g., Zoho, Sugar, Access, etc.)
