DescriptionLegal Insights is currently seeking an ongoing legal intern. Are you ready to change the world?
We are a busy post-conviction organization providing assistance to incarcerated individuals including military veterans, women, and youth in all 50 states and the federal correctional system. We specialize in providing comprehensive reviews for those who have been wrongfully convicted or sentenced in excess of what the law proscribes. We also assist in the preparation of post-conviction pleadings such as writs of habeas corpus and the like.
You will be required to sign a non-disclosure/non-compete agreement should an interview take place. You must be legally able to work in the United States. There may be a possibility of P/T or F/T employment upon completion of the internship program. This is a NON-SMOKING environment.

ResponsibilitiesYour duties will include data entry, filing, scanning, research, answering client calls and more. You must be available 20-40 hours a week and we can accommodate a flexible schedule within reason.
RequirementsRequirements for this position:
- Fundamental understanding of how to research and find the law (cases and statutes)
- A desire to become familiar with post-conviction and appellate law practice and procedure
- MS Office skills (strong Word and basic Excel)
- strong phone skills
- Manual filing experience
- Copying and scanning experience
- Reliable transportation
Beneficial but not required:
- Familiarity with criminal appeals/post-conviction/habeas corpus practice and procedure
-Heavy background in research
- Knowledge of Quickbooks
- Familiarity with Customer Relation Management (CRM) system
(e.g., Zoho, Sugar, Access, etc.)
