DescriptionUnited By Faith Legal Ministry, Inc. is a Central Florida Based, nonprofit law clinic that provides free/low cost legal services to low income people in order to ensure equal access to justice and to remove legal barriers to economic opportunity. Representation is limited to U.S immigration and Nationality Law Practice.
This internship offers unique situations through which one might better understand the special legal issues facing people who live in poverty and low-income communities. In turn, the interns provide valuable and necessary service to legal departments in which they are placed. UBF typically seeks opportunities for its interns to experience direct client contact, participate in administrative hearings mostly involving deportation proceedings, draft motions and/or work on a case (under supervision).
ResponsibilitiesInterns can expect to work in a legal environment involving immigration related matters before the U.S Citizenship & Immigration Services, Immigration and Customs Enforcements, and the Immigration Court. Interns will do both clerical and research work with the opportunity to work hand on hand with clients by collecting information, interviewing clients, and preparing cases.
