The Hillcrest Event Center is seeking an Inventory Management Intern. The primary role of this position will be responsible for planning and controlling all inventories and manage all activities pertaining to inventory control. This internship will prepare students for a career in Inventory Management, Purchasing Management, or Materials Management.

Responsibilities

-As Inventory Manager, maximize all product availability, inventory accuracy, inventory turn and customer service
-Identify and develop sound inventory management processes and procedures
-Achieve service and cost objects by being an influencer to appropriate in-house personnel
-Optimizing processes to increase service levels, improve inventory turns, and reduce working capital for inventory
-Monitor and review inventory levels as a result of sales
-Review backorders and provide confirmation of inventory availability
-Provide daily direction on allocation of inventory to deliver the best possible service to our customers
-Communicate inventory challenges, reflecting an appropriate sense of urgency to all levels of management and with a collaborative management style.
-Work together with Materials Management and Manufacturing Planning to confirm that all established stock items have inventory available
-Develop processes, procedures, and reporting for slow moving inventory
-Partner with Operations and Sales Management on the disposition of excess inventory
-Provide inventory reserves information to Accounting and Finance on a semi-annual basis.

• Process inventory adjustments, including physical count adjustments and miscellaneous adjustments
• Responsible for expediting inventory to maintain Service Level and DIOH (Days Inventory On Hand)
• Generate, export, analyze and maintain Microsoft Excel spreadsheets to track various inventory statistics
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

B.S./B.A. or currently studying Business, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management
Or 3+ years’ experience as Inventory Control Supervisor or similar position
-Strong experience in Inventory/Purchasing systems
-Exceptional interpersonal skills, attention to detail, accuracy, and organization are required
