The internship is an opportunity for someone to take a very full and rich career to its next level on a global scale, booking and promoting work in nightclubs and festivals, and securing residencies, clinics, tours and recording opportunities. Additionally, there is an extensive library of intellectual property - that is, literally dozens of songs, in many genres including pop, hip-hop, r&b, jazz, theater and more - that need to be heard, published, placed in films and television and covered by well-known artists.
The intern will be expected to keep logs of conversations with potential clients and a running list of contacts to follow up with. Letters and CDs will need to be mailed, and e-mails sent with attached video clips from live performances and sound clips from different bands. Meetings should be scheduled and attended to secure contracts for performances and recordings, and promotion of events needs to be implemented in various media platforms. Maintenance of relationships with professional organizations and website portals for songwriters and lyricists is also required, with an ability to pursue and secure publishing opportunities.
