Description

Purpose To assist the Central Ohio and Indiana-Ohio Blood Services Regions with developing, implementing and evaluating region wide volunteer management strategic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities  Assist with the management of a multi-platform communication plan to engage volunteers, collect accurate data and to educate volunteers on changes being made to existing processes
 Maintain accurate data and correct inaccurate data held within volunteer records through data entry in Volunteer Connection, the American Red Cross volunteer database and management system.
 Support the regional volunteer management team in creating new resources, and adapting old resources, to be used to accomplish specific strategic initiatives.
 Utilize excellent verbal and written communication skills and mid to high level computer skills to explain, correctly document, and guide candidates through the intake process.
 Distribute specific training assets and other necessary collateral, such as ID badges, for new volunteers as deemed appropriate by the volunteer management team.
 Assist with the planning and implementation of strategic volunteer recruitment initiatives and major events within the American Red Cross.
 Positively represent the American Red Cross at major events and community based events as appropriate.
 Assist the Office of Volunteers in other clerical capacities, including data entry, phone calls, written and electronic correspondence, and office projects.
Reports To Director, Office of Volunteers
Time Commitment 8-12 hours/week minimum. Flexible, during business week (Monday-Friday 8:30am-5pm)

 Mid to high level computer skills, general knowledge of internet

Training  Intern & New Volunteer Orientation
 Training provided by the Office of Volunteers and specific task training by supervisor
 CPR/First Aid/AED training (2 year certification)
