DescriptionThe Warehouse Intern performs activities related to the receiving, issuing, storing, organizing, and controlling warehouse inventory in accordance with established practices. This position reports to the Warehouse Supervisor. Specific tasks we will undertake in this project will include incorporating a barcode scanning system into stock keeping functionality, as well as establishing a streamlined check in/out process for all orders and receiving shipments. Selected intern(s) will leave this position having learned the day to day operations of a warehouse, along with the roll out of new inventory tracking systems. Weekly meetings with the Warehouse Manager, as well as CEO of the company will be held to keep projects on track, and provide feedback.
Responsibilities1. Assist with warehouse functions including but not limited to:
a) Receive, issue, store and organize all material used in the daily operation of the
b) Assist with physical inventory and warehouse controls;
c) Interact with and maintain good business relations with outside suppliers, contractors,
and internal customers.
2. Assist with the materials, yard organization and helps maintain weed control in the yard.
• Must have basic math skills and be organized and detail-oriented;
• Inventory procedures, and processing flow charts;
• Work independently, with supervision once procedures are learned;
• Effectively work with other employees to obtain goals and meet objectives.
RequirementsPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
The work is predominantly in a warehouse environment and occasionally, in an air-conditioned, smoke- free office environment. The warehouse is often dusty and dirty. The job requires the ability to stand and walk for long periods of time, to lift and move inventory materials within the warehouse and to deliver such materials to other areas of Meadows as required.
