DescriptionAs policy advocates, the senior executives at the Independent Business Council of NH (IBCNH) manage internships which offer a multitude of experiences while with the Council. As a start-up we can offer significant training within the scope of operational needs, as well as logistics of recruitment for new business and policymaking techniques for the membership at large. Day one will allow the chosen candidate limitless opportunities to contribute through ingenuity and resourcefulness.
The Council internship is designed to further career needs in both business enterprise and public policymaking. Throughout the course of an internship, candidates with get to know our members, how they are involved in the community, which produces a great networking environment. Skills and abilities will be sharpened through online research and writing tasks.
ResponsibilitiesIntern duties include, but not limited to:
• Planning, preparing and participating in Council events
• Certain aspects of event recruitment as well
• Maintaining the Council e-newsletter through research and preparation on weekly basis
• Oversight of website performance
• Member Relations
• Assisting in the organization of the Council’s major events
• General office support (phones, emails, messages, etc...)
RequirementsJUNIORS/SENIORS OF UNDERGRADUATE STUDIES. Semester oriented opportunities exist for the best candidates. These internships have a high dependence on general office duties and often are a great launching pads for students with academic disciplines in the social or business sciences. It is necessary to own a laptop and have sufficient research skills. The candidate with good work references and academic standing usually succeeds in this position.
GRADUATE STUDIES. Ongoing opportunities exist for the candidate who is completing graduate level studies with a degree in the public policy, administration, and/or social and business sciences. This internship is reliant on research and organizational skills which can be managed with limited oversight in the completion of project oriented tasks. It is necessary to own a laptop and have sufficient research skills. The candidate with good work references and academic standing usually succeeds in this position.
