Description

DEFIBRILLATOR PERFORMANCE ART GALLERY
Committed to presenting a vast range of styles and forms of time-based art, DEFIBRILLATOR is a non-profit 501c3 arts organization dedicated to fostering local talent while invigorating the Chicago art community with out-of-town [often international] artists. Contextualizing performance within visual art, we often present action-based or conceptual work by artists who look to endurance, the body, objects and architecture for inspiration, research and practice. Providing opportunities for established and emerging artists alike, DEFIBRILLATOR cultivates a resourceful and supportive artistic community. We provide a gathering place to conceive, present, and promote performance and other ephemeral forms of expression. Diverse programming, decidedly fearless and unique, aims to provoke thought and stimulate discourse surrounding performance art.
