DescriptionThe Brookline Chamber of Commerce is looking for a marketing/administrative assistant to assist the Executive Director with day-to-day responsibilities of the Chamber. Responsibilities include: creating flyers and marketing materials, updating the website, posting updates on Facebook & Twitter, sending out monthly invoices and welcome packs, and other office/clerical tasks as needed. A real plus if you have experience writing press releases, working in an office and/or managing events and working with the public. There is ample room for growth and creativity in this role with the potential for the position to become a part-time paid role, possibly in the future, depending on the Chamber's continued growth.
ResponsibilitiesPlease apply if:
You understand social media, posting on Facebook, Twitter and other social networking sites,
Have experience with email newsletters, especially Constant Contact,
Have done basic website maintenance and if not, have the aptitude to learn,
Can create basic flyers and marketing materials, write a simple press release.
Enjoy working with the public and are comfortable being an event host,
Are professional and presentable,
Have reliable transportation or can make your way to Brookline with relative ease,
Have an interest in community building,
Are creative and proactive about creating new systems to help work flow,
Have a good sense of humor, are flexible and understand the needs & challenges of working with a non-profit.
RequirementsDesired Experience & Skills:
Some experience working in an office.
A pleasant & professional demeanor.
Excellent interpersonal & organizational skills.
Knowledge of Microsoft office suite and Internet browsers required.
Basic web maintenance or experience with websites.
Reliable and honest.
