Description

Breastcancer.org, the #1 online resource for breast cancer and breast health, is seeking a reliable, energetic, self-starting intern to assist the Development department. The internship will consist of a diverse set of small projects and administrative tasks related to marketing, fundraising, and event planning initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess a background in communications, marketing, or a related combination of experiences. While the internship is unpaid, college credit is available. Candidate must have a demonstrated interest in working with nonprofits. This position reports directly to the VP of Corporate Partnerships and Marketing.

Responsibilities

• Assist with marketing needs and assignments
• Aid in the coordination, planning and execution of Breastcancer.org’s annual fundraiser, Rock the Ribbon
• Customize and compile corporate sponsorship packages
• Assemble welcome kits
• Make scripted phone calls to Business Journal List
• Write and edit acknowledgements
• Track and process event-related correspondence
• Compete data entry projects in Raiser’s Edge (i.e. gift processing)
• Completion of other tasks as needed

Requirements

• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to multi-task in a face-paced environment
• High level of organization and prioritization skill
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Knowledge of Raiser’s Edge is a plus
• Personable team-player with ability to work effectively in a group setting
• Aggressive follow up and ability to prioritize
• Ability to maintain professionalism with Breastcancer.org constituents and partners
• Reliable transportation
• Appreciation for the mission and values of Breastcancer.org
