WellSpring Resources was founded in 1959, and provides behavioral health services to the metro-east region of St. Louis. During its last fiscal year, the organization served nearly 8,000 community residents through its mental health and substance abuse services. With a mission to empower individuals to be their personal best by instilling hope and promoting mental wellness, the organization has approximately 170 employees and a budget of $11 million annually.
The Intern will be responsible for assisting and supporting the Development Team with a variety of fundraising and communications projects. These projects are designed to give the intern practical experience in internal and external communications, fundraising, and social media management, as well as general experience in an office setting. This is an unpaid internship.
General responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Assisting with social media engagement by helping manage WellSpring Resources’ social media channels. This will include creating posts for social channels and reporting on social media web analytics. Drafting and assisting with press releases, blogs and other copy as needed. Designing flyers, graphics, and other marketing materials. Assisting with maintenance of the agency’s WordPress website. Assisting with planning and production of fundraising events and activities. Reaching out to community organizations, general public and donors with the message and mission of WellSpring Resources. Assisting with grant writing and research. Data entry into fundraising software.
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Knowledge and experience with Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and other social media platforms. Must be enrolled at a college or university, and major in Communications, Marketing, Fundraising, English or a related field. Experience with WordPress websites preferred.
