Acti-Kare has become an industry leader by offering high quality home care to seniors and other clients needing assistance, such as new mothers and their children, those recovering from surgery or other ailments, and even pets. Acti-Kare offers a complete suite of care services, utilizing a variety of settings, including in-home, in assisted living facilities, retirement communities, and the general public.

Acti-Kare is seeking professional and outgoing interns in the Houston area that demonstrate a great deal of initiative, ambition and a desire to be a part of a growing company. Current college students or recent graduates are encouraged. Healthcare related, health science, or marketing majors are preferred. The internship is unpaid, but offers great experience for those new to marketing, healthcare, or healthcare administration.

Preferred: 10-20 hours per week


Assist with business development and marketing to key referral sources. Assist in maintaining CRM marketing database and providing follow-up with marketing source referrals. Attend networking opportunities with learn to use push and pull marketing strategies. Develop and maintain weekly marketing reports and assist in meeting target objectives. Answering phones, emails, scheduling appointments, and follow-up correspondence as needed. Assist in agency program project. Coordinate new and ongoing projects and programs. Assist with marketing, networking events, and assist with programs for identified client populations. Social Media site updates.


Strong organization skills and must be detailed oriented. Marketing and business development experience and coursework and a willingness to learn. Self-starter, dependable, personable and demonstrates initiative. Must be outgoing, professional and have strong written and oral communication skills. Demonstrates interest in learning healthcare/home care marketing and administrative related duties to complement coursework. Detailed oriented and have excellent written and communication skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office Products. Familiar and comfortable with social media sites (Facebook, Twitter, GooglePlus+, etc).
