Description

Hawaii Nutrition Company has moved into a new location at the Herbologie Studio in Kakaako and is offering an internship opportunity for International Marketing and Design. We are a growing Hawaii based company featuring all natural “Made in Hawaii” nutritional and cosmetic products.

The students will work under the supervision of the company President and the Director of Marketing. It’s a lively entrepreneurial environment so if you’re looking for large corporate structure, this is not a good fit.

Minimum term is 3 months from September 1 to November 30, 2012. We are open to extending the internship for a longer period of time if there is a good fit. Schedule is 10 hours per week. Position is unpaid, but does include a monthly stipend. Location is near Ward Center and very accessible by bus.

The Hawaii Nutrition Company brand is owned by Natural Edge Hawaii, Inc.. It is a rapidly growing small business that is actively involved in new product development. Please see www.HawaiiNutrition.com for a preview.

Responsibilities

The intern will have the opportunity to contribute to a variety of marketing materials including print ads, website content, brochures, and product packaging that can be used for their portfolio. Students will receive training in aspects of workflow management, product development, printing, marketing and advertisement. Students will gain exposure to state and federal support agencies such as Export Council, Department of Agriculture, and Hawaii Tourism Authorities. Other tasks such as special event staffing and social media promotion will be included.

Requirements

Applicant must have working knowledge of Adobe design programs such as Photoshop, Illustrator, or InDesign. Coursework/experience in graphic design, marketing, and/or branding is very helpful. Priority will be given to applicants fluent in Japanese, Korean, and/or Mandarin.
