Description

AFLAC is a Fortune 500 company who is the worlds largest provider of supplemental insurance . We have been in the insurance industry since 1955 and have 91% brand recognition with the company's symbol of the duck nationwide. The goal of the internship is to provide college students with the opportunity to gain real world experience in the field of Sales and Marketing. Students will be trained and coached on becoming an integral part of the marketing process and maintenance of client relations. Seminars from industry professionals designed to enrich the students' sales and marketing skill sets will be hosted throughout the program.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, performing cold calls to local businesses, marketing of the AFLAC product, involvement with the entire application process for new clients, maintenance of business relations, attending meetings with area professional (CEO’s CFO’s, Controllers, etc.), and the observation of Strategic Marketing and Development interaction. The regional manager will work with the students in tailoring the internship program to meet their needs in terms of areas they wish to derive beneficial experience from.

Requirements

The purpose of the internship is to assist the district managers with the regional growth and development of the AFLAC organization in the DC Metro area. Only candidates that will be staying in the Northern Virginia/DC/Metro area for the duration of their internship will be considered.
The 10 week internship will take place from September 15th through November 20th. Schedule is flexible and entirely up to the students. We only ask that you be able to commit at least 10 hours per week, but you are free to work as many hours as desired. This is an ideal position for students who wish to complete an internship program and receive academic credit for a semester or quarter course. We welcome students with all majors.
