As one of the hottest startups in the tri-state area, you'll join an exciting team in a fun and highly productive environment that's quickly making a name for itself! The Marketing Communication Intern will report directly to the Director of Strategic Programs, and will also have the opportunity to work with the and the Founder and CEO. You'll be helping handle Purzue's social media efforts from the top down, tracking campaign results and engaging with users on a daily basis. You'll also be heavily involved with our career event planning and traditional marketing efforts, and assisting with promotions and advertising throughout the experience. This is NOT a coffee making position! We encourage our interns to be as active as possible in the company. You'll be participating in weekly meeting and helping to determine the voice of the brand, while learning the essentials of managing a corporate social media account and marketing initiatives. We're a fun (and quirky) group of entrepreneurial go-getters so be prepared to work and play hard during your time here!
We offer a program with flexible start and end dates, currently being offered for the Fall Semester (September - December). This opportunity is oriented towards individuals currently in their Sophomore, Junior, or Senior year of a four-year institution, or currently enrolled in a graduate program. The ability exists to be hired on full-time basis following the completion of the internship program. You must be able to commit at least 16 hours per week to this position, however limited working from home is a possibility.

ResponsibilitiesReports directly to the Director of Strategic Programs.
Assists in managing multiple brand channels across multiple accounts with a variety of social media management and analytical tools, including: Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Youtube, and Pinterest
Frequently responds to and engages with users across various social platforms in accordance with the voice of the brand, increasing online presence
Directly involved with updating our company Blog, crafting original articles, conducting interviews, and designing original content
Works with our marketing team to create promotional material, website and ad copy, banners, and content for other traditional advertisement mediums
Reaches out to small businesses via online marketing methods to increase client acquisition
Assists in the creation of video-based original sponsored content, from campaign ideas to scripting, production, delivery, and execution
Directly involved with the planning of numerous career fair events, including a 1000-person-plus event to be held in Manhattan
Participation in weekly status updates, company meetings, and brainstorming sessions
Other duties as assigned
RequirementsEducation: High School Diploma
Must be a current Sophomore, Junior, or Senior enrolled at a four-year institution or acquiring a post-graduate degree.
You must be able to commit at least 16 hours per week to this position, however limited working from home is a possibility.
Strong social media presence and working knowledge of multiple platforms (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Youtube, etc.) absolutely essential
A strong tech-savvy work ethic, risk-taking mentality, and sense of humor are a must!
Familiarity with the tech industry and desire to work for a start-up preferred.
Prior industry experience in relevant areas desirable.
Currently pursuing a Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, English, Business, or Journalism degree is a bonus, but not required.
