The Marketing Internship is an opportunity to gain meaningful experience in a corporate marketing environment. The selected intern will work alongside a seasoned group of marketing professionals and will learn and become involved in marketing principles and practices for a national top 10 B2B media company. Hanley Wood Interns will be exposed to many aspects of our business and play a meaningful role in our marketing operations.
Hanley Wood’s intern program is a unique opportunity to gain valuable insight and experience with a dynamic digital media company. Your on-the-job experience at Hanley Wood will be supplemented by educational sessions and access to senior executives. Program participants will gain important insights into the media and publishing world, and overall will enjoy a fun and worthwhile experience.
The Fall 2013 Internship Program will last 12 weeks. The fall intern position will offer about 20 hours per week – specific hours are flexible within our core business hours (8:30AM – 5:30PM).

ResponsibilitiesMajor Job Responsibilities and Related Duties:
Create/edit PowerPoint presentations
Draft copy for promotional sell sheets and press releases
Update promotion workbooks
Assist on media files as required
Provide marketing assistance for show home, as well as virtual conferences
Distribute promotional materials to sales force
RequirementsQualified candidates will possess the following:
Be a rising junior or senior currently enrolled in an accredited university’s business / marketing program. Recent college graduates will also be considered for the position.
Ability to accurately understand scope of assigned projects, clients’ goals and requirements, and budgets through meetings, taking notes, and asking questions
Demonstrated research, writing, and telephone skills
Ability to adhere to all deadlines
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Strong sense of professionalism
Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Organized self-starter with a positive attitude
Desire to broaden knowledge of emerging technologies
Adeptness using digital technologies to engage with immediate environment and initiate change
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, web browser use, and Google Docs
Strong presence on social media platforms including (but not limited to) Facebook and Twitter preferred
Must display the maturity required to work in a casual, informal office setting
