Illume is a 36 year-old international consultancy that brings people to experience important places around the world where significant change in human history inspires significant transformation in the individuals and groups that we guide. Sojourners return home transformed, having experienced first-hand other histories, cultures and traditions. This experience changes the way we see ourselves and the people and places around us.

Our clients include religious and non-profit organizations; academic and research institutions; cultural and institutional organizations.

The intern works directly with our Sales & Marketing Director to conduct outreach to clients, to establish new contacts, maintain regular contact and share information about new world events. The intern also works with our Office Administrator to learn and participate in the daily operation of the business.


The specific tasks of the intern include outreach calls, data entry, market research, document production and client correspondence.

The position allows interns to develop sales skills, communicate effectively on the phone, navigate a database, master administrative skills, develop the ability to focus and learn about all the work involved to generate new business and work with current clients.

The marketing and administrative intern is someone who assumes responsibility, is goal-oriented and professional. In addition, the ideal candidate needs to share a dedication to the vision and mission of Illume. An enthusiasm for bringing transformational experiences to people through world travel is vital, as is an interest in marketing. Previous marketing experience is welcome but not necessary.
