DescriptionINTERNSHIP DESCRIPTION: The Pelham Guidance Council (PGC) seeks a Prevention Media Specialist Intern to guide the organization in utilizing social media tools to reach out to the community and increase awareness of the PGC mission and the utilization of PGC programs and services. The intern is responsible for enhancements to PGC’s website, social, and print media and is responsible to the PGC Director. Strong communication, writing and computer skills required.
STATUS: Part-time, ideal candidate would be able to work 10 hours a week or more but other candidates will be considered, schedule flexible within business hours of agency which is 9 am – 5 pm
Enhance website and social media tools and presence with content creation & updates
Gather and customize research-based content from community and online resources for web, social media platforms, and PGC newsletter and prevention campaigns. Create content, stories, video, photos, etc.
Analyze web and social media statistics and produce monthly report
Manage member and marketing databases
Recommend strategies for increasing the effectiveness of PGC marketing campaigns
Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
Excellent computer skills
Knowledge of HTML and basic photo editing skills
Working knowledge and experience with social media platforms and how they are best utilized
Detail oriented, flexible, team player
Experience in web/online production
Some experience/interest working in media or public relations.
