Language Connections is a Boston based multi-lingual linguistics agency with a focus on the translation and interpreting trades. We provide linguistic consulting and support in many industries, such as biotechnology, medicine, law, education and government.
We give our interns real responsibilities with direct impact on the company's bottom line. We value the contribution of every member of our team. Some of the attributes we are looking for in a prospective intern are organizational ability, creative problem-solving and good Microsoft Office skills. If you are a self-motivated individual, you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the day-to-day operations of our business.

Responsibilities

Marketing
• Maintaining American and other foreign language marketing campaigns
• Preparing marketing material
• Supporting daily activities (blogs, social media, email marketing)
• Data mining: researching new contacts and establishing connections to new clients
Project Management
• Managing major client accounts: initial planning, estimating services, delivering final files, invoicing. When required: organizing production-related client meetings, coordinating process review on main accounts
• Assembling teams of freelance translators and editors for each project and managing in-house resources and external vendors efficiently and cost effectively
• Exercising sound judgment in keeping involved parties informed at all times. Keeping clients updated regarding potential difficulties and/or issues affecting cost and turn-around time

Requirements

Requirements:
• Bachelor Students of Business or related studies; some experience in the field of marketing and or translation/interpretation/linguistics could be advantageous
• Academic or work experience in an international environment is advantageous
• Excellent presentation and interpersonal abilities
• superior organizational skills
• a genuine talent for creative problem-solving
• Ability to communicate accurately detailed instructions to multilingual vendors
• A detail-oriented and service-oriented personality is mandatory, as well as a strong sense of accountability
• Proficiency with computers and most common software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Acrobat); Knowledge of Desktop Publishing Software (QuarkXPress, InDesign, or Framemaker) is an asset, but not required
• Superb written and spoken English; Knowledge of other languages is an asset, but not required
