New Grad New Career is a new and emerging career coaching business located in Washington, D.C. (Georgetown). We focus on helping college students, new graduates and young professionals launch their career and accelerate the job search process. With unemployment hovering at 8% and more than 1.5M new graduates entering the job market each year it is critical, now more than ever, to have a targeted career management strategy. We help our clients create great resumes and cover letters. We write professional LinkedIn profiles and teach them how to use social media as a powerful networking and job search tool. They learn how to interview with skill and confidence!
ResponsibilitiesWe are looking for an intern to help us develop a comprehensive marketing strategy and plan. You will help us build and manage our brand and assist in promoting our services in person, online and in print. You will also take the lead in guiding our social media presence. This is a great opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a growing organization and have a tremendous impact on its marketing strategy and operations.
Key job functions include the following:
•Participate in the development and implementation of our overall marketing strategy and plan
•Help manage our Facebook/Twitter/LinkedIn/YouTube accounts
•Schedule and write social media posts
•Support online marketing (Google Adwords and Facebook Ads)
• Expand our social media reach by increasing awareness and increasing Followers
• Drive traffic to website
• Assist in integrating social media into marketing initiatives
• Create and execute new marketing campaigns including email campaigns using the tool Mailchimp.
• Research potential marketing contacts and assist in planning marketing/networking events
• Write and edit marketing, advertising and other marketing communications such as press releases, develop brochures, posters, flyers, etc.
• Help to create and develop presentations
Location: Washington, D.C. (Georgetown) and remotely (TBD). We are located on the Metro Bus and Circulator Bus Routes. Parking is not provided
Start Date: Open until filled
Hours: minimum of 16-20 hours a week

RequirementsThe ideal candidate is passionate about marketing and social media and has the following experience and characteristics:
•Must be a Junior or Senior (or recent grad) pursuing a degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, PR (with a minimum 3.0 GPA)
•Advanced social media platform skills with LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter, Instagram, etc.
•Familiarity with Google analytics and search engine optimization (SEO)
•Outstanding interpersonal, writing and communication skills
•Excellent computer skills working with Word, Excel and PP, Adobe.
•Experience with WordPress a plus
•Great attitude, enthusiasm and initiative!
