PR & marketing position for upcoming book releaseBookmark This
DescriptionEmma's Children is a consulting service offering parenting advice and support to parents--within the US and internationally. Emma is a child sleep and behavioral specialist and a true expert in her field.
Emma has a book coming out with Atria/ Simon & Schuster, in July 2014. We're now in the process of putting together a strong team to develop a marketing and social media strategy.
Emma Jenner is a British-born parenting guru, author, and star of TLC's Take Home Nanny. I have over 17 years experience working with children and I know what works and what doesn't. I founded Emma's Children, a consulting service helping parents worldwide.
ResponsibilitiesThere are multiple positions available from social media, blogging, marketing, to PR as listed below but we really want to know what your strengths are and what interests you. We've learned over the years that people perform better if they do what they're passionate about.
Social media includes but is not limited to: helping with our established media sites (FB, Twitter, Pinterest) and developing ways to have Emma's articles reach the top of all search engines by use of StumbleUpon, Digg, Reddit, etc. We are open to adding all and any new social media you're familiar with!
Blogging- Drafting blogs and researching new topics/products in childcare/child safety/child health/etc. We have a successful WordPress blog but would love to pump our Tumblr and start other blogs as well. The more the better!
We also do tons of book reviews and product reviews. Obtaining these items to review is also part of the internship. Some products and books come to us, others we reach out to. If you see a really amazing product, contacting the company and working out a deal for a review is great.
Locating and contacting the top mum/parenting bloggers, magazines and networks is how we really build our social network, fans, and followers. This is the main way we achieve media exposure. This could involve everything from writing press releases, creating Constant Contact emails, posting on different parenting community sites, commenting on parenting articles.. all working towards generating new relationships with others in the industry.
RequirementsWe're really looking for a social media expert who has worked on these types of campaigns before. The internship would place a huge focus on various social media platforms to develop a stronger 'buzz' around Emma and her upcoming bok release
What we are specifically looking for is someone that has a strong experience and interest in PR, marketing and or, the social media world. We need interns that are:
- passionate, innovative, and self driven
- outgoing and entrepreneurial
- good clear writing style
If this sounds like you and you're looking to take your career and abilities to the next level representing an expanding, young company, then this might be the right time for you to join our team. A virtual internship will work with the right, self-motivated candidate.
