DescriptionSt. Francis College is a Division I institution located in historic Brooklyn Heights, NY.
The St. Francis College Department of Athletics is currently accepting applications for semester and year-long internships in marketing and promotions. The interns will report directly to the Director of Athletic Marketing and assist with marketing and promotions of Men’s Soccer, Men’s Basketball and Women’s Basketball. Internship opportunities are available by semester or on a yearly basis. Fall internships will run from September until January. Winter internships will begin in January and conclude in June. Yearly internships will run the entire academic year (September through April).
ResponsibilitiesThe interns will help facilitate and run gameday related marketing and promotions at St. Francis College athletic events. This includes, but is not limited to, coordinate distribution of fan giveaways; write scripts for public address announcer for each event-highlighting sponsors and describing promotional activities; design and placement of advertising for events; assist with sponsor involvement prior to and during events; strategize and implement new methods to improve gameday atmosphere and increase fan attendance.
RequirementsStudents should have a passion for athletics and be interested in pursuing a degree in sports management, marketing, communications, business or special events. Successful candidates must be enrolled in a degree-granting program with an accredited college or university. Interns are expected to work an average of 6-12 hours per week, depending on game schedules and other assigned duties.
Candidates should be proficient in Microsoft Office and have basic/ working knowledge of Photoshop. Interpersonal communications skills are a must.
