DescriptionChildren's Bureau, a nonprofit leader in child abuse prevention and treatment, is in search of 1-2 talented students who are interested in leveraging their passion for helping others within the world of social media. This internship offers students the opportunity to support the Director of Marketing & Communications in managing the agency’s social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Instagram. Interns will be responsible for content development, daily monitoring & engaging, audience growth, and helping out with Children's Bureau events and marketing efforts. Children's Bureau’s social media intern will be trained and guided on strategic planning, best practices and social monitoring/reporting tools.
RequirementsA passion for helping others and willingness to learn is a must! Applicants should also be creative, enjoy writing, have excellent communication skills, be reliable and dedicated to helping Children's Bureau in their mission to prevent child abuse. This person will be introduced to what it's like to manage a company's social media platforms professionally - a great starting point for anyone interested in pursuing a career in marketing (esp. nonprofits). To be considered, applicants must have the following qualifications/skills:
• General knowledge of how to use Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Google+
• Good writer - creative, attention to detail in grammar, spelling, punctuation
• Excellent time management skills - ability to stay on task
• Self-motivated! Desire to learn & take advantage of the experience
• Good attitude
• Access to smart phone, laptop (ability to access accounts on-the-go)
