Description

FW: Chicago, the premier print publication and website for professional women in the city, is looking for marketing and social media interns. Interns will be fully involved with the FW: Chicago team and will be expected to be able to do the following: manage multiple documents and spreadsheets in google docs, be comfortable professionally communicating with partners and affiliates, write marketing and social media content, contribute to social/distribution/marketing strategies, and able to attend events representing the magazine.

At this time, internships offer credit and modest stipends in addition to great hands-on work experience.

To apply, please send a resume, cover letter, samples that demonstrate marketing strategies, and three references via email with "Marketing/Social Internship" in the subject field.

Responsibilities

The internship will consist of a combination of required time in the FW: Chicago office in the West Loop and flex time completing tasks from home, for a total of 10-15 hours per week. The ideal candidate is currently working towards a degree in journalism or creative writing or is otherwise interested in a career in publishing. The length of the internship is flexible and will depend on the candidates schedule and availability. We are looking for interns with exceptional writing and editing skills and meticulous attention to detail. FW: Chicago is growing, and stellar interns will be considered for permanent placement on the editorial staff. There will also be opportunities for interns to receive bylines on short published stories for the web and the print edition of the magazine.

Requirements

Candidates must have excellent writing skills and keen attention to detail. Working knowledge of google docs, social media channels and experience working in a CMS (content management system). Must be able to work autonomously and have a strong desire to get meaningful experience from an internship.
