The Event Management Intern will play an integral role in the planning, execution and evaluation of the The Tree of Health Center's (TTOHC) wellness and sustainability activities, including our quarterly Open House & Wellness Fair, retreats, seminars, and annual cultural fair. The Event Management Intern will work with the teams responsible for putting together detailed plans to execute a full line-up of events. The candidate must be able to work independently. The event organizer is hands-on and will require working as part of a team as well. You will need to complete a wide range of activities requiring clear, effective communication, critical thinking, excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. You must be able to work well under pressure, make decisions and ensure the smooth and efficient running of an event. Additional responsibilities will include, but are not limited to fundraising, identification and communication with TTOHC sponsors, vendors, and event staff, and other duties as assigned. The intern will work closely with the Marketing and the Administrative Managers as well as the rest of the Marketing and Administrative team. Ideal candidate will possess a desire to be involved with natural healing practices and education within the worldwide community.
The internship is unpaid, but an extensive amount can be taken from this experience. An internship in the events management field is a great way to get a jumpstart on your career and gain tangible working knowledge. Your experience at The Tree of Health Center will enhance your résumé as well as provide a platform for launching a successful career in Events Management. • Planning, coordination, and management of TTOHC events
• Coordination with event partners and partner staff
• Managing a budget
• Obtain proper permits
• Plan and execute all logistical items for the events
• Organize media, sponsors and vendors
• Coordinate staffing and volunteer requirements
• Prepare logistic documents for all vendors
• Day of event management
• Post event evaluation
• Pursuing a degree, certification or recent graduate in communication management and event planning; cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Strong passion for Event Management
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
• Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment
• Highly organized, self motivated, energetic and dependable team player
