DescriptionPaintzen is a first-of-its-kind online painting service - we are revolutionizing the way to get your home or office painted. Our online portal allows homeowners to get instant quotes, and we partner with Benjamin Moore to supply all paint and tools. We are looking for a highly motivated, creative, and versatile college student to step in and assist with advancing our PR and marketing strategy. This position will help us grow our marketing department by doing heavy blogger outreach, providing high quality blog content, SEO articles, and social media posts to use throughout Fall 2016. Content will focus on home decor, color, interior design, renovation inspiration, & paint education. You will assist with outreach to bloggers and influencers within the interior design space, and may be required to help in developing new ideas for strategic partnerships. This intern will work closely with the Director of Marketing and the Product Manager to accurately convey our brand messaging, to engage prospects and customers, and to boost organic traffic to our website, and may be used for college credit.
Our office, located a few blocks from Penn Station, is an extremely collaborative environment, and fosters growth and creativity. We promise a positive work environment - and free coffee!
ResponsibilitiesYour responsibilities will be primarily copywriting and blogger/influencer outreach, with the goal of media placement.
We are a small and compact team, and time is of the essence when it comes to producing high quality content. You will be required to produce a designated number of articles - some to be used on our blog, and others to be used for SEO purposes and to drive organic traffic - on a weekly basis. Articles must be ready to post - researched, well thought out, and proofread. Sometimes, this will involve gathering images with proper citation.
Beyond writing copy, you will be taught how and expected to schedule blog posts to be shared on our social channels (Facebook, Twitter). We will look to you to help develop our Instagram and Pinterest strategy, as well.
For PR outreach, we will expect you to research interior design and lifestyle bloggers and outlets in our active markets, pitch the editors, and get placement within the blog by partnering on a project or offering a discount code to readers.
You will assist the Director of Marketing and Product Manager with other tasks, including but not limited to: organizing and assisting on photo shoots, writing copy for e-mails and websites, other media outreach, social media monitoring, and other day-to-day tasks.
RequirementsMust be available to come into our Manhattan offices 15 - 20 hours per week.
Must have extremely strong writing skills, and the ability to create content quickly and efficiently, even under pressure.
Must be versatile and able to adapt to a fast-moving start-up environment.
Must have a creative, open mind and a self-starting attitude.
