DescriptionThe Hardwood Sports Academy internship program is for high school students in 11th and 12th grades interested in sports administration, Public Relations, Marketing and Media. This internship will give students the opportunity to learn and gain hands on experience in sports administration and communications. We are looking for interns to join the Hardwood Sports Academy team and gain valuable work experience that they can take with them beyond college.

1. Editorial Ambassadors: Write for Hardwood Sports Academy. Learning how to communicate effectively and efficiently is a beneficial skill to have. Your editorial experience will include learning how to write articles using AP Style guidelines and interview sources.
2. Communication Ambassadors:
Social Media: Assist with social networking. We have Twitter, Facebook and InstaGram accounts. Assistance is needed to keep all these channels active. Learn how to market Hardwood Sports Academy effectively as well as the ins and outs of being a social media maven, and help bring new audiences to our site. Find interesting and related links for us to share with our followers and write original Twitter, Facebook and InstaGram posts to keep our social media presence alive.
Promotions: Help us raise brand awareness and loyalty by extending our marketing beyond the traditional and digital channels and into the community. This will involve creating, designing and distributing collateral materials and giveaways.
3. Broadcast Media Crew:
Photography: Take quality photos at Hardwood Sports Academy youth sporting events and highlight tours to be published on our social media channels, website, blog and marketing collateral.
Videography: Take quality video footage for Hardwood Sports Academy youth sporting events and highlight tours to be published on our social media channels, website, blog and marketing collateral.
Sideline Reporting: Learn to give unknown, interesting, relatable and timely information on the spot and start building a professional portfolio of your on camera work.
4. Sports Administration Ambassadors:
Tournament and event publicity and promotion
Game Day/ Event Operations
Gate admission sales
Reporting of Scores
Score Keeping/Clock Management
Updating tournament brackets
Develops and maintains professional relationships with supervisors, staff, and participants.
Other duties as assigned
Requirements Must be a current high school student in the 11th or 12th grades.
Must have means of reliable transportation to attend events, meetings, etc.
Must attend at least two events per month
Must have or be able to obtain access to a computer and internet connection throughout the duration of the internship.
Must be able to dedicate 1-3 hours per week- (not including events)
Must participate in every aspect of the internship program. (Monthly workshops/meetings, etc...)
Must meet deadlines and respond to emails in a timely manner.
