DescriptionIndependent Farmers insurance agent in Baltimore, Maryland is seeking an outgoing, career-oriented professional to join his team. Grow with an industry leader that is committed to making a difference in the lives of our employees and members. Insurance sales associates help generate new business by contacting potential customers and selling one or more types of insurance. Duties include explaining various insurance policies and helping clients choose plans that suit them. Duties also include building and developing customer relationships within the community to promote auto, home and life insurance.
As one of our Insurance Sales Associates, you will be required to:
Develop leads, schedule appointments, identify customer needs, and market appropriate products and services.
Find and set appointments with prospective clients through a combination of referrals from existing clients, personal marketing and aggressive lead follow-up.
Maintain a strong work ethic with a total commitment to success each and every day.
Provide prompt, accurate, and friendly customer service. Service can include responding to inquiries regarding insurance availability, eligibility, coverages, policy changes, transfers, claim submissions, and billing clarification.

ResponsibilitiesAnswering phones, making warm calls to the existing book of business to set appointments, mailing routine and marketing correspondence, studying for their licensing exam and basically learning what a career as an insurance producer is like.
RequirementsWill pay for interns online Property and Casualty and Life and Health online course material from Kaplan Online, and will reimburse intern for all licensing fees at the successful completion of their licensing exam. This opportunity will enable the chosen applicant to see what a day in the life of a successful insurance agent's office looks like, get a feel for the work, gain experience, and obtain the necessary licenses to qualify as a competitive job applicant at the insurance agency of their choice.
No full-time job is being offered at the end of this internship - when not studying for their licensing exams, interns will assist the agent and his staff in making marketing calls, responding to mails, sending correspondence, and other tasks that do not require an active insurance license.
