Description

Quiet Events is seeking a qualified intern to join the team to assist and possibly take lead of our Marketing/Advertising/Sales department. We are looking for creative and innovative ways to market our rental service to businesses, parties to local party-goers and tours to tourists.

This position will be based in New York City, but will assist with building our marketing strategy for our new San Francisco office.

This intern should be prepared to work in a fast-paced team environment, and will finish the internship having gained broad experience in various aspects of marketing across different media types.

The position is for NYC, however the content will be utilized for both our NY and San Francisco offices.

About the Company
Quiet Events® was founded in August 2012 and is NYC’s first Quiet Clubbing Company. With over 4,000 headphones, Quiet Events hosts small to massive parties in which everyone wears headphones and can tune into 3 different DJs. In addition to the nightlight events, we also host local tours for native new Yorkers and tourists. Lastly, we offer a rental service so that anyone across the US has the ability to put on their own Quiet Clubbing party.
Today the company consists of seven team members and 9 event consultants. Two Events Directors that are responsible for day to day activities for our weekly events in NYC and SF. Two sales members who reach out to businesses and take sales and support calls, One inventory person who manages the headphones, and one special events director who focuses on creative and fun larger events and the CEO who manages the company actives and assists with direction and innovate ideas.

Our headquarters is a home office based in Astoria (1 block from the N train). This allows us to reduce overhead for storage, be dynamic to requests, and be flexible with working hours for our team members. You’ll be provided with all the equipment and software that you need to get the job done either from the office or remotely.

In addition to getting a vast amount of of experience across all avenues of design/marketing you’ll be able to learn how small businesses operate and grow. You will also have the flexibility to be creative as we are a company that likes to just try things and have fun.

Some creative events you’ll assist with in addition to our Quiet Clubbing Parties & tours are: Quiet Comedy, two live comedians going to head to head while the audience can choose which to listen to. Quiet Plays, you watch a play but hear what they are thinking to themselves.

Responsibilities

• Create and execute strategies to increase profits for our rentals, events, and tourists markets
• Daily social media interaction to gain a larger social presence and interaction with potential new clients
• Assist in the creation of signage, circulars, mock ups, e-mail campaigns, on line promotion, etc.
• Assist in the distribution strategy or delivery of marketing materials
• Building standard email and call templates for team members
• Perform analysis of marketing and sales data
• Seek and analyze competitors and align our services and/or provide unique events to provide a competitive advantage
• Evaluate and adjust website to maximize SEO and highlight what clients use most
• Evaluate our online presence on social media, website, mobile app, and printed material for rental clients and at events.
• Contribute to website redesign project in various ways
• Monitor and post on blogs, forums, and social networks
• Online outreach and promotion using Facebook, MySpace, LinkedIn, Twitter, and more

Requirements

Company is looking for an undergraduate student in the New York area who is majoring in Sales, Marketing or Advertising and is looking for school credit and/or experience. This person should have excellent verbal and written communication skills, with extensive knowledge of Web and social media. PowerPoint, Word and Excel experience is a bonus, and will be considered when choosing the best applicant for this internship position.

We are flexible with hours both day, night and weekends for the right intern. This position can be at our office or work from home. We however would require that we do meet once every week to go over face to face with the team.
