Description

The California Youth Empowerment Network (CAYEN) is a program of Mental Health America of California whose mission is to develop, improve and strengthen the voice of Transition Age Youth (TAY) - young people ages 16 to 25 - in local and state-level mental health policy. Through targeted advocacy, CAYEN supports TAY across the state to
create positive change in the mental health system and to have a meaningful impact on the policies that shape their lives. To learn more, visit us at www.CA-YEN.org.

We are currently seeking an intern to assist with our branding and outreach efforts through the creation and distribution of various marketing material.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:
-Work with staff and/or other interns to support social media efforts
-Develop or update various marketing material, i.e. newsletters, brochures, flyers
-Assist with developing a marketing campaign for membership recruitment
-Other tasks as assigned by the Director

Requirements

Requirements:
-Public Relations, Marketing, or Communications experience or education desirable
-Excellent written/verbal communication
-Creative with an eye for design
-High level of professionalism and integrity
-Strong computer skills required with knowledge of digital media, graph design, and/or video editing software a plus
-Willingness to learn about mental health and issues that affect TAY
-Individuals with lived experience of mental illness are encouraged to apply

Skills and attributes:
-Energy, with a desire to come up with fresh ideas on how to grow our program
-Ability to identify a target market and “speak” to that audience through messaging
-A self-starter, with the confidence to work independently when necessary
-Attention to detail
-Friendly, with a good sense of humor
-A hard worker
-Wants to make an impact in the community
