Description

The Oscar® and Emmy® Award-winning Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers® (SMPTE®), a non-profit professional membership for the global advancement of the art, science, and craft of the image, sound, and metadata ecosystem is seeking a paid intern interested in learning all aspects of marketing and communication. The position is located in White Plains, NY. The applicant who fills this position will learn excellent skills that can be applied in entering into any fast-paced organization. It's essential that applicants to this position have excellent communication skills, demonstrate creativity, are highly organized, and understand the importance of attending to even the smallest details.

Responsibilities
• Provide support for all forms of media efforts (print, digital, social)
• Preparing press releases for wire distribution
• Contribute to coordinating email marketing campaigns
• Proofreading messaging copy
• Participate in website updates
• Creating presentation templates and interstitials
• Entering event listings
• Participate in mobile app content updates
• Supporting in the design of creative collateral
• Capable of assisting in other areas as needed

Start Date
As soon as possible, in the Spring Semester. Position offers potential for Summer Internship as well.

Requirements

Requirements
Students applying for this internship must have strong communication skills and should be majoring in Public Relations, Communication, Marketing or Journalism. Recent graduates may be potential candidates as well. Applicants should also have a strong interest in film, broadcast, and Internet distributed media technology. Only interns that are proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint should apply. Experience with Drupal, Adobe Creative Suite, Mail Chimp, Sprout Social, and/or Final Cut is a plus. Position will be flexible around class schedules and average approximately 10 hours a week.
