Description

Sweetwater Farm is a non-profit, community-supported urban organic farm and educational center located in the Town n' Country area of Tampa (just northwest of TIA). Through our hands-on programs, visitors of all ages practice appropriate land stewardship and master sustainable agriculture techniques.

Sweetwater is offering 1-2 positions for a Social Media and Marketing Internship. A qualified Intern will have experience in advertising, social media, and/or marketing. This is a great opportunity for someone who is looking to further their skills in these areas, or looking to enhance their professional resume. This position requires someone who can insightfully engage with the demographic that we work with and appeal to their needs in a creative and sometimes, entertaining way. Interns must be available at least two business days a week during the farm’s June - October off season (Mon-Fri), and at least two business days a week during the farm’s October - May season (Wed-Sun). Interns will come each week for at least 2-3 hours, and can work remotely for 1-2 hours, for a total of 4 hours per week.. Time at the farm will be spent collaborating with Program Manager, gathering materials and information for blog, website, social media outlets, etc., and helping to develop and implement promotional materials. The length of the internship is flexible, but commitment is required for at least the full length of the summer, or the full length of the season.

This is a non-paid position, however potential mentorship opportunity may be available,
a share of organic produce (known as Work Share) from the farm will be provided for every eight hours worked during farm season for interns not receiving institutional credit. During off season/summer a $15.00 Sweetwater Gift Card will be provided for every 8 hours worked, which can be redeemed at our Sunday Market during the following season only, or towards a CSA membership.

College students or graduates are encouraged to apply, and educational credit for your institution can be provided. This opportunity is a wonderful way to learn about non-profit development and small-business development while actively enhancing existing skills!
