DescriptionThe internship program provides the student with the opportunity to gain experience and a solid understanding of the advertising and marketing industry. The student contributes to all aspects of marketing planning by applying their basic understanding of market research, direct marketing, sales management, advertising creative and production, media placement, and public relations. The student also supports business development initiatives and helps with reporting and analytics. Channels include business-to-business and direct-to-consumer.
The student will have the opportunity to work with many local and national clients in several exciting industries including real estate and construction, home improvement, manufacturing, and hospitality.
Upcoming semester projects will include work with Dock Blocks of North America, LLC www.dock-blocks.com and other SC companies.
The student should be seeking a degree in business, marketing, statistics, economics or similar field. Additionally graphic design and computer programming are highly valued. MBA’s are encouraged to apply. Proficiency in Social Media, Excel, PPT and MS Word is required. Strong writing and proof reading skills are required.
ResponsibilitiesDepending on the qualifications of the student daily responsibilities include; help with planning, copywriting and editing, creative support, market research, database production, proposal development, account management, link building, social media management, pay-per-click advertising management and client relationship maintenance, general administrative duties.
