After working in the music industry for four (4) years in New York, she started her own business by mass producing and importing her first product “The Poster Box!™” in 2009 and launched it at the New York International Gift Fair. It is a collection of 16 colorful posters printed from her hand-drawn art, seen at www.NicoleDeniseDesigns.com . Many more products are in the works.
Internship is offered year-round: Jan-term, Spring, Summer, and Fall.
Intern will learn how to enthusiastically promote and market a product to the retail industry. Intern will learn about running a business as an artist (but the principles apply to any business- not just art) and how various industries operate. Intern is encouraged to ask questions, contribute ideas, and learn from this experience.
We are seeking a student(s) interested in business, regardless of your interest in art. If you like art, that's good too, but please note the experience is business and marketing-related and not artistic in nature. This is a unique opportunity to learn how business and art work together!
ResponsibilitiesContacting retailers such as gift stores, college bookstores, children’s museums, hospital gift shops, teachers' stores, and other shops in a variety of industries to get them excited about our artwork; Maintaining progress via Excel. If you have a personal interest in a certain industry, we can incorporate your area of interest into this learning experience.
On-line marketing and social networking can also be a part of this internship if that area of learning interests you.
Intern's marketing creativity is encouraged and we are open to your ideas.
The work can be done off-site (your dorm, house, etc.,) during business hours as long as you are in a relatively quiet environment with no significant background noise (i.e. no dogs barking, no TV or loud voices in the background etc.).
