Alyscia Cunningham Photography & Film is a photography and film company owned by Alyscia Cunningham, an author, speaker and photographer based in Washington, DC. Cunningham focuses on social-change projects that challenge the media's idea of women and beauty.

Her first book, Feminine Transitions, highlights the beauty of females through unaltered photography (no Photoshop). She is currently working on a 2nd photo book and documentary titled I Am More Than My Hair: Bald and Beautiful Me, which celebrates the beauty of girls and women who've lost their hair due to medical conditions. The Marketing Intern's main responsibilities will be to support the marketing of Cunningham's projects, including creating newsletters, email campaigns and online promotions as well as to provide support to her social media pages (to be posted twice a week).

Identifying and booking speaking engagements is also a portion of the Marketing Intern's responsibility. This requires the Intern to identify a speaking opportunity, usually with a University/College Women's Studies Program or Woman Focused Organization. Then contact the potential client for the purpose of booking a speaking engagement.

The potential Marketing Intern should possess creativity and flexibility and be open-minded, enthusiastic advocate for social-change. This internship must be prepared to work alone most of the time, given this is a virtual position, but will have support from Cunningham's assistant. Training will be provided but you must be a self-starter and be able to work independently.


- Create signage, newsletters, email campaigns, online promotions, etc.
- Provide support to social media efforts to target new audiences.
- Identifying and book speaking engagement with Universities, Colleges and schools as well as Women Focused Organizations.
- Assist with exhibitions and special events (if applicable) to promote company and increase attendance.
- Research and analyze competitor marketing and sales materials.


- Pursuing an Associates or Bachelors Degree in Marketing
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication and customer service skills
- Must be able to work independently
- Possess creativity, flexibility, variety, and growth potential
- Should be a believer in advocacy (social-change)
- Must have phone etiquette and be enthusiastic
