The Alzheimer’s Association Minnesota-North Dakota has been providing services, information, and advocacy for more than 30 years to people with dementia, their families and health care providers.
This Chapter is one of seven founding chapters of the National Alzheimer's Association, headquartered in Chicago. It was started by family caregivers, led by Hilda Pridgeon, who came together around a common need of getting support and help for their loved ones with dementia. Since 1979, our donor-supported, nonprofit Alzheimer’s Association has provided reliable information and care consultation; created supportive services for families; increased funding for dementia research; and influenced public policy changes.
To eliminate Alzheimer's disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health.
To assist the Marketing department with the overall planning and implementation of marketing and cause marketing activities for the Alzheimer’s Association Minnesota-North Dakota.
Responsibilities• Assist in developing and writing strategic marketing/communications plans.
• Research, identify and pitch Alzheimer’s & Brain Awareness Month and cause marketing opportunities to local businesses
• Implement marketing/communications plans that will favorably project image of Association.
• Implement advertising, promotion and grassroots marketing activities including print, online, digital and social media.
• Aid in writing and design of promotional publications including e-news, flyers and/or brochures.
• Represent the Association to the community through media relationships and other types of contacts.
RequirementsCandidate must be able to complete the internship ( with a minimum of 240 hours for the semester) in exchange for school credit.
Related education in marketing, business, communications, or related field preferred
Excellent communicator (both verbal and written)
Self-starter with the ability to work independently
Strong organizational skills
Motivated and resourceful
Comfortable with cold-calling
Willingness to learn
Respectful of cultural diversity
Basic computer skills
