DescriptionSparta is a state-of-the art program leading the charge in preventing warrior suicide. Sparta employs the healing power of meditative practices, equine assisted counseling and adventure programs. Sparta has innovated the use of the Hero's Journey, to create a mythopoetic program designed to help returning warriors find personal meaning from their own experiences and translate them into a new sense of purpose. The founders of Sparta have a combined total of over 50 years of helping those in need of healing.
Your role as a Marketing Intern is crucial for keeping the Sparta Project community informed while spreading the Epidemic of Hope through social networks, media, campaigns, websites, blogs, etc. There are opportunities to develop skills in professionalism, media relations, writing, branding and marketing. You will also be able to expand your writing portfolio.
ResponsibilitiesWriting content for blogs, website, and printed materials
Creating social media content to optimize each of our social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, LinkedIn, etc.) to engage with our community and grow our audience
Writing press releases
Maintaining a database of media coverage
Researching social media trends, top stories, etc.
Brainstorming marketing ideas/concepts
Business development and marketing support
RequirementsAn advertising & public relations, communications or marketing major
Strong written and verbal communication abilities
Writing samples to showcase your talents
Willingness to learn through independent study
Self-starter, detail oriented, able to take initiative, and take ownership of assigned work projects
Be able to troubleshoot and provide creative solutions when obstacles occur
Positive attitude and strong work ethic
Comfortable working in a small, friendly work environment
