DescriptionWe are a San Diego technology startup focused on delivering IBM mainframe software and appliance solutions to clients worldwide. Our founders strongly believe that improvements upon already existing solutions and the commitment to supporting emerging stakeholders in the IBM mainframe world will prove to be an incredibly lucrative endeavor worthy of establishing a new corporate entity. As so, we are currently offering two sales and marketing internships to work from our Scripps Ranch offices to help drive the launch and success of this new opportunity.
Currently supported and operating internal to an established IBM mainframe application company, this is an excellent opportunity to be a part of the day to day business environment comprised of accountants to CEO’s as well as a fully operational production data center. You will learn valuable office skills and be emerged in a highly valued business environment where learning is highly supported. There is a high ceiling for growth. As the company grows these positions is expected to expand into a paid leadership positions ultimately with team members reporting to the accomplished candidates.
ResponsibilitiesAs a marketing intern:
You will be challenged in establishing processes for collecting and analyzing marketing data gauging why target audiences might be attracted to a particular product. You will figure out who our global consumers are, what those consumers want and how much they’ll pay for what they want. You will reach these conclusions using existing company material and with traditional methodologies like focus groups, surveys, industry reports and data mining through phone calls and relationships with industry business partners, research companies, colleges and government agencies. You will be expected to quickly learn and understand the following key components to our business’s success:
• Market Segmentation.
• Target market segment strategy.
• Market needs, trends and growth.
• Service business analysis.
• Business participants, main competitors.
• Competition products and buying patterns.
Strategy and Implementation.
• Market SWOT analysis.
• Strategic pyramid.

• Marketing, pricing, promotion and distribution strategy.

• Sales programs that generate leads and wins.
• Strategic alliances with companies such as CDW and Dell.
• Managing and tracking sales milestones
Understanding web analytics is curtail as SEO management is key to meeting market inquiries via the company’s product landing pages. You will have the opportunity to create a web marketing plan for the corporate website as well as social media. Senior marketing personal exist to support you in this endeavor.
This position will require churning out and maintaining reports on sales trends and consumer demographics, preferences, needs and buying habits. You must be able to present your findings to your peers and management team in an easy-to-understand way on a weekly or bi weekly basis.
