The International Rescue Committee is a global leader in emergency relief, rehabilitation, protection of human rights, post-conflict development, resettlement services and advocacy for those uprooted or affected by conflict and oppression. In San Jose, the IRC provides clients with initial resettlement help, vocational English language classes, job placement assistance, and immigration services, and interns are needed across these areas to help deliver programming and ensure the effective management of our office. Currently, the Immigration Department is seeking a qualified intern who can participate in various stages of print and online marketing campaigns to publicize our free citizenship and immigration events in the South Bay.


Support the Immigration Department in effectively promoting citizenship services and events across the Bay Area
Develop marketing strategies that effectively reach and serve populations in need
Support the coordination of immigration program events
Maintain a database of external communications
Provide social media outreach support as needed


The IRC is looking for a qualified undergraduate or recent graduate majoring in Sales, Marketing, or Advertising to assist the Immigration Department in San Jose. This person should have excellent verbal and written communication skills, with extensive knowledge of event promotion, Web and social media. Language skills and are a bonus, and will be considered when choosing the best applicant for this internship position.

This intern should be prepared to work in a non-profit, multi-cultural environment, and will finish the internship having gained broad experience in marketing in addition to helping refugees, asylees, immigrants and undocumented individuals to access high-quality, low cost immigration services.
