DescriptionWe are a fast-moving startup that is addressing the fastest growing segment of the U.S. market, ALM (African-American, Latino and multicultural), a segment currently underserved by tech-enabled companies. We need to refine our marketing knowledge and approach, product-market fit, and product performance. As a Business/Marketing Analyst Intern you will collect and analyze data and information relating to not limited to customer segment economics, product usage, marketing impact by customer segment, budget vs. actual spend, competitive product performance and client research.
ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities include but are not limited to:
Collect and analyze data on customer demographics, preferences, needs, and buying habits to identify potential markets and factors affecting product demand.
Identify and monitor competitors and research market conditions or changes in the industry that may affect sales.
Perform market analysis and market segmentation exercise.
Plan and conduct focus group sessions
Assist in go to market research and planning: customer segment economics, product usage, marketing impact by customer segment, budget vs. actual spend, competitive performance, vertical market research, direct mail marketing.
Prepare reports of findings, illustrating data graphically and translating complex findings into written text.
Forecast and track marketing and sales trends, analyzing collected data.
Measure the effectiveness of marketing, advertising, and communications programs and strategies.
Provide management with information and analysis concerning the promotions, marketing programs, and campaigns of our products or services.
Gather data on competitors and analyze their prices, sales, and method of marketing and distribution.
Monitor industry statistics and follow trends in trade literature.
Enjoy collecting data and conducting market research
Excellent working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint
Excellent communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills.
Strong analytical skills.
Self motivated and presents a positive attitude in dealing with customers and co-workers.
Preferably Junior or higher, pursuing a BA/BS in marketing, business, or computer science
