DescriptionThis is a marketing position for an author who also has 26 years of corporate leadership experience. It will involve mainly online work with social media management and targeted advertising. The internship might involve some public appearances and media exposure with the author who is going to be a speaker at the 2016 Minneapolis Women's Expo and will be doing media until that time. I'm looking for a local intern who is available in person in the state of Minnesota. This position is 90% virtual but I do need access to the intern in person for media events.
ResponsibilitiesDuties and Responsibilities
Intern must understand the basics of social media research and targeted advertising.
Intern must actively manage the author's social media including, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram and YouTube.
Intern must study the demographic details of the target consumers and help in forming strategies to attract them.
Intern must actively market the author's books to various websites.
Intern must file records and engage in database research, including Google Mail and Microsoft Word.
Intern must actively manage the author's mailing list via MailChimp. They must understand the basic concept of the autoresponder.
Intern must assist with public relations, copywriting, customer follow-up and may be asked to attend speaking engagements and book signings with the author.
Intern must be able to actively manage marketing metrics based on their efforts.
Intern also needs to prepare weekly reports and give the latest status of their work.
Skills and Specifications
They must be highly motivated and energetic with a love for literature.
They should be willing to work hard but most work is computer based and can be done from anywhere.
They must have good communication and a love for people of all types.
Negotiation skills and tact are a plus as they may be engaging with the author's fans and readers.
Education and Qualifications
I prefer students pursuing a degree in business management, advertising, public relations, journalism, leadership and/or marketing.
