Always be on the alert for potentially fraudulent job postings online - never send money to a potential employer.
DescriptionCome work with us and create awesome digital content for a fast-growing mobile app startup! You will have the opportunity to perform more traditional marketing activities as well as create fun, innovative audiovisual content on a daily basis.
PathSource is the #1 career app in the Apple App Store. It combines a career assessment, salary assessment, a college major selection tool, the world’s largest library of informational interviews on video and other tools to empower young adults to make better career and job choices. We have a straight 5 out of 5 star rating on Apple from over 1500 reviewers.
Our team wakes up every morning with the goal of changing lives and helping people find their path.
If this sounds like something you want to be a part of, keep reading. (And download the app!)
Want to know what people think of us? Here’s a review from April 28th (you can see it on the App Store): “AWESOME – What a great idea! I can’t believe someone didn’t think of this before, haha. Super informative and well done graphics, information, suggestions. This app has definitely clarified what I’d like to do with my life. I can’t say enough good things – it’s fantastic that this app is FREE as well ☺ I’m going to share it with my friends.”
If you’re good enough to win this internship, you’ll become part of something special.
RequirementsAbout The Application Process (MUST READ):
This role is a unique opportunity, and therefore the application process is a little unique as well.
In addition to a resume, we request that you send in a short video (90 seconds or less) that shows off your creative side.
To send the video, upload the video to any shared site (youtube, box.com, google drive, etc.) and INCLUDE THE VIDEO LINK IN YOUR RESUME.
We don't require any fancy videography or video editing skills (although if you have those, great!) - a simple smartphone video will suffice. We really want to see your best attempt at producing fun, witty, bold content.
Even if you don't score the internship position, your application materials alone will give you the opportunity to earn cash bonuses ($50 bonus for any video we post on Youtube; $100 bonus for the best video content submitted) as well as producer/writer/director credit on any videos that we digitally distribute.
Your video is as important as your resume in determining if you get the internship.
Send us your best attempt at a short creative viral video featuring PathSource and career/job exploration. But in case you're stuck, below are a few suggestions:
1. Tape yourself telling your parents: "I’m going to become [X] (e.g. reality TV star, ice cream truck driver, even exotic dancer). Record their reactions.
2. Everyone loves cute kids! Get the younger kids in your circle of acquaintances to participate (Think ages 3-9.). Ask: "What do you want to be when you grow up, and why? What don't you want to be, and why?"
3. Go into your workplace and let your boss know that you're quitting because you found a better career path on PathSource! Film yourself quitting and your boss's reaction. This may be a goodn option for a job you don't want anyways and don’t necessarily wantplan to list as a reference ;) – btw, quitting your job doesn’t automatically earn you the internship. You still have to be a good all around candidate!
4. We think conventional job boards like Monster, CareerBuilder and Craigslist provide a terrible user experience and we want to hear from other people who feel the same way. Talk to people (friends or strangers) and ask about job boards they've used to search for jobs. Ask whether that experience was positive or negative for them and why. Finally, show them the PathSource app. Film their reactions as they explore careers on the PathSource app.
To apply, upload the video to any shared site (youtube, box.com, google drive, etc.) and include the link to the video on your resume.
