DescriptionWe have an immediate opening for an enthusiastic PR/Marketing intern in the Austin area who wants to gain experience in PR marketing, creating marketing campaigns and media outreach.
The intern will research bloggers and traditional press, compile information on these media outlets and write targeted press releases. Press will be targeted towards those writing about travel (concentrating on Central American travel), Fair Trade, Ethical Fashion, Fashion, Social Enterprises and business/individuals working to better the world.
Esperanza Market is a startup based in Austin that sells Fair Trade bags handmade in Nicaragua. With every bag purchased, we donated a solar-powered reading lamp to children living without electricity in Nicaragua. Esperanza Market internships may be for academic credit, but it is not required. All Esperanza Market internships are unpaid.
Responsibilities-Research marketing outlets that the brand can be a part of (sponsorships, partnerships, influencers)
-Pitch story ideas
-Build media lists
-Build brand through consistent marketing messages
-Build relationships with traditional press and non-traditional press
- Content creation: develop stories ideas, blogs and emails to communicate company messaging
- Planning and implementation of PR and communication campaigns
Requirements-Able to work 15-20 hours a week
-Ability to meet deadlines and multitask
- Marketing/Advertising, Journalism or Business major preferred
-Need personal laptop, computer skills, some research skills
-Ability to be proactive and think on your own and blend with the team
-Strong creative writing and communication skills
-Strong editing and proofreading skills
