Sustainable Westford serves as a venue for bringing community together and raising awareness on issues of sustainability. We do this by providing education and inspiration on issues of sustainability. Working with the community and related organizations to advance our mutual missions, we provide access to local sustainable foods; recycling programs; renewable energy options; conservation of natural resources; and health and wellness programs. We support local farmers and food producers; foster connections between farmers / producers and the community; provide instruction in the growth, preparation of healthy foods.

The intern is responsible for planning, development and implementation of all of Sustainable Westford's (SW) marketing strategies, marketing communications, and public relations activities, both external and internal. Oversee development and implementation of support materials for marketing, communications and public relations.


To coordinate and manage the Public Relations and Marketing of all SW initiatives by working with directors and managers to develop marketing campaigns; these will include press releases, social media, website, email newsletters, signage, coordination of photography at events (some kind of online Dropbox repository for photos taken at individual events) and maintaining a database of information and past accomplishments on the SW website. Other responsibilities include:

Monitor online analytics to measure the impact of online communication strategy.
Writing and editing content for posters, flyers, music, demos, events for all programs.
Maintaining locations of easels and lawn signs and obtain permission for display.
Be knowledgable of Westford Farmers Market schedule of events


Strong knowledge and understanding of current trends in digital media/social media and online analytics is needed.
