Description

Ryan Alexander Events, Inc. is a boutique wedding and event planning company based in Chicago, IL. Currently we are searching for a talented SOCIAL MEDIA and EVENT ASSISTANT INTERN (located in or near Chicago) to join the team. We have some amazing projects that we are currently working on and will need someone who is available both during the week as well as weekends.

Responsibilities

+ Detail oriented – Demonstrates an attention to detail; can produce thorough and accurate materials.
+ Team player – Shows a willingness to tackle any job, big or small. RAE is a small team and the intern will have opportunities to work on a variety of aspects related to small business.
+ Adaptability — Can readily adapt and adjust to change focus and take on new tasks as necessary.
+ Applicants must be grammar enthusiasts with a good sense of humor and strong command of the English language.
+ Must provide your own laptop
+ Students encouraged to apply! Communications, Marketing or Public Relations majors are preferred, but not required.
+ Able to lift 50 pounds and stand for a minimum of 4 hours
+ Available nights and weekends (specifically Friday evening and Saturdays)
+ We are looking for interns who can commit to an internship beginning late May 2015 through August 2015
+ A Minimum of 5 hours and a max of 17 hours per week

Experience with Microsoft Office, Facebook, Google Adwords, Twitter, Instagram, Composing Press Releases, Blog Marketing, Email Marketing, Pinterest, Media Outreach, Social Media Blogging, Social Media Communications, MailChimp, Photoshop, Squarespace, Search Engine Optimization

Requirements

+ Help manage and post to RAE social media accounts
+ Help manage content, update the event calendar and other pages in the back end of the newsletter
+ Write and manage blog posts
+ Experience setting up social media strategy
+ Research for proposal to include site locations, music, decor, and other event elements
+ Ongoing update of client data base
+ Research online and in person sites and other event enhancements
+ Document photos to be utilized for social media work
+ Assist set up and work events (typically on Fridays and Saturdays)
+ Attend industry events (typically 1-2 bi weekly)
+ Expected to work independently and complete tasks and projects but also (must check email on a routine basis)
+ Research and pull images for weekly newsletter
