DescriptionSocial Media Internship/Externship (15-20 hrs/week)
Location: We are located in New York and Boston, but the internship is flexible and we are looking for remote interns as well.
We’re looking for someone who will embody the Women’s iLab mission of furthering the future of women in innovation. We are looking for an intern who will help us to extend our brand across Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, YouTube, and Instagram. This person will learn community management, content management skills and personally be leading expanding our brand presence online.
Intern will have an understanding of social media best practices, tools, and strategies. Intern goal is to drive growth through the delivery of addictive, shareable content that fosters social engagement. We are looking to hire someone who is hungry to learn about the PR/Social Media industry, who can provide innovative, strategic and creative ideas and work independently. You should also be current with events and news and have strong writing skills. Please note that this position is for internship credit. You will gain firsthand knowledge and opportunities to build your portfolio.
ResponsibilitiesWhat will you do?
Create posts for social media channels
Engage with users across social channels, answering questions, responding to questions and other customer service issues
Assist in reporting and analysis of social media data
Monitor social media successes of competitive and relevant brands
You will become an expert in social media best practices and stay abreast of changes to social media platforms used
Create an ongoing strategy on new ways to grow fans and followers across all social channels
Assist in building Women’s iLab presence with helping to coordinate sponsorship events

Education and Experience:
Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in public relations, journalism, marketing, advertising, or communications.
At least 1 year of professional/internship related experience.
